I would totally own a Bisharp if I was journeying on the road in some region. Just imagine, it could be your own personal butcher. You could catch a Lopunny and get Bisharp to slice of the best bits of meat from the thighs and sit by a campfire eating it while the rest of it is on a spit roasting.

btw why he became OU in Gen 6-7?
I don't see any change in ability, so I guess it's about a new move or maybe the fairy-type introduced?

Overall I think Gen 5 had the best Dark types. Sand crocodile, street fighting gangster lizard, illusionist fox, bone vulture, the Kamen rider made out of blades with a chess theme, and of course the mother fucking hydra.

Part of it was that Bisharp is basically one of the only Steel types that kept its Dark/Ghost resistance.

I tend to genuinely forget that Bisharp (and Pawniard) even exist until I see artwork or other Anons mentioning them...which is a shame because I actually like them a LOT.

I think its because they're underrepresented even in their own games, but then in the TV shows and merchandise too. Plus it doesn't help that they aren't even catachable until so late...I've never used one on an in-game team because of that.
Maybe I'll make a point of breeding a Pawniard and using one as my Starter in my next playthrough of BW or BW2 now. Thanks /vp/

Exactly!
It goes along with the power creep that has escalated in the games over each new generation.

Pokemons' stats on average are a lot higher now than they ever used to be, and everything is either found incredibly late in the game, evolves at very high levels, or both. it sucks.

His edge is a bit excessive, I wish he didn't have the blades in his torso. I'm a big fan of Gallade and he used to always be recommended as a pair for him in teambuilding so I liked him in the way you like your friend's friend.

I like Bisharp, but out of every other Pokemon I simply cannot imagine this thing living in the wild. It's too humanoid and thematic that the term "Wild Bisharp" feels contradictory.
Someone put this thought to rest and point out it's animalistic traits, if it has any.
