And because different people like different
things, some people will like the things the game did well more, and others will disappointed by the things that weren't done well more

In under a year, we'll all agree it was a shitty game, and GF needs to go back to whatever they did five years ago.

In five years, we'll remember the good things about it and demand remakes that'll only be kind of alright.

Maybe. I think the most important step is to give the game a new look to make the jump to a new system actually feel like an upgrade. If the battles still look like they did in XY that's going to be a problem.

I doubt it. It's laughable how small and sub-par Game Freak is when compared to other high profile game developers. Pokemon is a multi-billion dollar franchise, and yet they still use a tiny development team and release games in such short cycles.

I mean don't get me wrong, the games are ridiculously simple when compared to other modern games. It's turn based gameplay, it doesn't rely on real-time physics or any crazy complex calculations. Pokemon is mostly aesthetics, and making the world immersive. Yet even that, they seem to struggle with.

I expect the switch games to be extremely similar to sun and moon, only in HD. That's all you can really hope.

Almost all issues Pokémon has had since XY stems from GF's new design philosophy that Pokémon should target the smartphone audience and not require too much focus (hence the lower difficulty and lack of more complex content).

The Switch is different enough from a smartphone or traditional handheld device that I am optimistic they will adjust their priorities and give us a more meaty Pokémon experience.

No matter the new pokemon, characters, graphics, gimmicks, etc., the game will be linear and tutorial filled, and most likely contain some kind of "Battle" facility that most people will find lacking. This has become GF formula.

Making a good Pokemon game would require time and effort. Game Freak are completely aware that no matter how much they half ass a main Pokemon game, it'll reap massive profits because of how popular the franchise is.
