we've seen ridiculous things that pokemon shouldn't be able to do. ash's swellow ko'd a scizor and stopped a donphan when it shouldn't have the attack nor defense to do such things.

If they'd just replaced Ash with a new protagonist each season then the anime would be orders of magnitude better.

No it's not Ash what makes the anime crap.

Even if they replaced him with a different character, that doesn't guarantee that Pikachu won't still OHKO Rock and Ground pokemon, destroying mountains with thunderbolt or being on par with legendary pokemon like Arceus or Yveltel and others.
