The middle part of the game is literally just Explorers, while the last part is literally just GtI.

It took one year for GS, and RS too. The only spinoffs that came out the same year as their game are PBR for DP and Rumble Blast for BW.

After defeating Necrozma fused with Solgaleo, you open an Ultra Wormhole to imprison Necrozma, but Necrozma takes you so you and it fall in a place where there's nothing and you can't escape because you have the only item that can open Wormholes
The End... ? It never ends.

Wait for next year or Early 2019. They're done with EMD2 so they'll be working on the next PMD for Gen 8 hopefully using that Pokemon money to develop on the Switch.
