that's obvious, but he's right. It's not stringy enough (or too stringy?) make it just a little more stylized, like orangurus purple fur, you know?

also, I don't know about the tongue- there's always something robotic about the UBs, and pink flesh makes it seem more animal. Maybe make it gray.

I can see the tongue thing, but I was thinking along the lines of Buzzwole with how organic it looks. I also thought that faded purple/pink added to the ghostliness, but I'm not opposed to gray... or at least a much grayer looking purple.

Also, since it probably doesn't come through in the drawing clearly enough, the tail is actually a horn, which would add to the inorganicness a bit.

Rethinking it, I think it would be better if it didn't have a tongue at all, and had just a gaping stripped (spiral?) void for a mouth instead. The shape and the kelp give it a sort of naturalistic feel, but making it a sort of hollowed out monster makes it creepier.

I figured the tail was a horn, but that speaks for removing the tongue. The tongue really is the odd characteristic out.

I mostly went with a tongue because I was basing the mouth on a basking shark, and they do have sort of a flat tongue-like base to their mouth. I could see it without one all-together, though.

Truth be told it wasn't exactly designed as one. I wanted to make a Water/Ghost-type whale Pokemon. I also had an idea for a UB codenamed "Volume" based on sound and size. So the ideas kind of just blended.

Hmm. No, I don't think so. Exactly as is, it's a little too... supernatural? The trumpet tail and the way the "eyes" are covered is too much for a pokemon. It's not cutesy enough, if that makes sense. Know what I mean?

The design itself is god-tier, though I would agree with the others that the kelp is a bit too detailed. I don't agree however, that it should be all stringy. Just simplify it a little bit and it'll be perfect.

Thanks for the advice. I'll likely redraw it some time with a few rough sketches getting it just right but I'm fairly happy with how this turned out as a first draft.

Any thoughts on stats?

Goes against the idea of the design. It's borderline intangible, a pure spirit, so its Attack stat should be minimal. That's also why the DEF is so high, it's less enduring the attack through bulk and more just not getting hit very solidly.

That's why it has a speed of 79. It weighs basically nothing, so nothing's weighing it down to limit movement.

I understand where people are coming from with the kelp looking weird, but I think that's just the art style more than a design flaw

The problem is that the other Ultra Beast don't have this kind of min maxing, even Kartana has at least a two digit number for it's special defense.

To be fair ordinary Pokemon have had single digit stats before. Chansey, Shuckle, etc. And they have multiples.
