what does /vp/ think of my starter line and how are they ripoffs of other pokemon?

the 3rd stage typings are grass/poison, fire/bug, and water/psychic

They're cool but I don't particularly love any of them. They fit within Pokémon's artstyle and are rather interesting though.

I'm gonna be 100% honest with you OP.

Final stage on the grass type looks like ass, but that's just my bias since it just looks too human.

Fire type starts off unappealing (not that it's badly drown or the design is bad, I just don't like it) then becomes really fucking cool at the end.

Water type, I'm not sure what it's supposed to be but the first stage is cute the other two I don't really like.

the water type is supposed to be based off of a sea angel/various sea slugs

You fucked up in the final stage

Grass went from really likeable at first sight to a fucking bara

Fire went quadrupled for no reason,was this a joke on Samurrot?

Water should have stayed a cute slug idk what the fuck is the final stage, looks too weird

It seems like you kept the asthetic for the entire line through the fire and water lines, but lost it on the grass. Like the fire one seems "tough" all the way through, and the water seems "elegant", but it seems like you were going for "creepy" for the grass, then abruptly switched it for "generic badboy" at the end. Maybe go back and keep with the "creepy" theme of the first two.

the grass and water final stages i just drew up last night, they're more unfinished than the fire starter. i had an idea for them in my head but couldn't seem to translate it, like the grass starter was supposed to have a gas mask type thing.

i'll revisit them and take your opinions into consideration.

and yeah, the fire starter is bipedal as well, just like samurrot lol

First two grass ones are pretty neato, but then the final stage is a bit of a letdown, just way too human-like for my taste.

Fire one starts off alright, but the last stage is awesome.

Water one is very cute for the first stage, but the other two I don't really like, they're a bit uncanny...

two fakemon based on Hallucigenia and Conodont and Tullimonstrum

the Hallucigenia one goes from having no discernible head to a definite head, which is a nice reference to how when Hallucigenia was originally discovered, no one knew which way it was supposed to be until its head was only recently discovered

and having Conodont evolve into Tullimonstrum is a really cool idea

these also remind me how cool it'd be if we had Pokemon based on prehistoric organisms that WEREN'T restricted to being fossilmons and Rock types.

I love the 1st stage of the Fire line actually. Last stage is cool too, but its the mid-stage that bugs me. Its a nice design, but its too similar to Heracross. I get that it may be heard to make it more unique since they have the same basis, but its still too much imo. Maybe if you tried something with the face, or even made the jump to quadruped in this stage instead, it would be better. But overall I like the Fire line quite a bit so good job.

I'll be honest, not a fan of the other 2, especially the Grass line. Not sure what it is but I just find it unappealing. For the Water line I think it may be that we just got a feminine Water type so this one seems a bit repetitive. Maybe switch them around- make the Grass line the feminine one instead?
