But is is. People hated cutscenes, so a tweak would be to remove a lot of them or add a skip button. Since it's obvious that gamefreak is too incompetent to add a simple skip button, the game already looks like shit to someone like me who doesn't want to sit through cringy cutscenes.
Actual tweaks to the game would be the addition of actual fucking post game.

Looks like you apologists found a new buzzword to parrot.
This has nothing to do with attention span though. I'm fine with cutscenes, but Gamefreak is consistently shit at writing. They even fucked up the twist of Aether Foundation being the bad guys in the very first seconds of the game, how retarded does one need to be to do that?
Also, it's fun to sometimes start the game over, I did it with the old games before, so having to sit through shit unskippable cutscenes kills any sort of replay value to the games.

People just want actual gameplay OP, what's hard to understand? These are games, not tv shows or movies. Sure, it's nice to have a plot-line, it's fun, but it's not the reason people play the games. They play the games to catch and battle Pokemon.

If they'd added gyms, battle frontier or a decent amount of new pokemon/forms, something like that, then people would be happy. Because they'd have new challenges in the games.

Previous threads showed that some scenes will be identical, I'm just waiting for people excited for a different story now will eventually come to find out it's actually the same with a few minor tweaks. It's like if they showed a trailer of Platinum showing nothing but Looker and Charon along with the Distortion World, that's basically what it looks like here.

Exactly, if I have to be perfectly honest, Lusamine fusing with an Ultra Beast was hype, here it just seems like the generic battle you get against a legendary in pretty much every gen. I haven't really touched SM since December of last year, if we get the same amount of post game content again I'll be worried if the same thing won't continue throughout gen 8 as well.

I supposed we should just live with each gen's incarnation of its Battle Tower clone now. With how long the story is in SM I don't really want to replay it either, much rather play older installments that aren't so intrusive. Unless if USUM gives you the option to skip cutscenes or scroll through text by holding b, gen 7 might be my least favorite gen of all with nothing motivating me to go back to them ever again once I beat the games.
