>>33723164>it's not a 3rd game it's an alternate story3rd games were alternate stories though, false dichotomy
>This is a completely different gameExcept for all of the many, many things that we know are the same
>They're not going to show everything in trailersThis is true, the trailers seem pretty carefully put together to hide/misdirect your expectations for the story
>The games are made for kidsTrue, but doesn't mean they should be held to a lower standard
>It's really meant for children, you've just gotten olderSee above. "Kids won't notice it's bad, so it's not bad" is a retarded argument.
>They're being innovativeWhere? I've never seen anyone try to honestly make this argument. GF does not know what innovation is.
>It won't flop. It will sell millions.>I'm not saying it'll be good but it won't flop. Accept it and move on.These are absolutely true. If you think the market will reflect you being butthurt, you are nuts.
>Don't buy it then>If you hate it, just don't buy itHonestly I can see both sides on this one. There are people who will buy every Pokemon game no matter what, and will even buy systems to do so even if they don't care about anything else on the system, and they feel as if them buying the game is an a priori fact and it is Game Freak's responsibility to deliver a product that meets their standards. These people have a deluded, narcissistic worldview.
On the other hand, it is entirely reasonable for a fan of Pokemon to want the games to be good. Why wouldn't they want a franchise they like to be made well and become successful? They have every right to voice criticisms of the game. If they do decide to not buy the game, that doesn't mean they should leave and stop voicing their opinion; do you really think that Game Freak, from a business perspective, wouldn't want to know why people didn't buy their game?
