Normal used to be the type to send out and just spam your stab move until shit died or your opponent sent out a Gengar.

Even better if you used a Persian with Slash and could Bubblebeam their Golem/Rhydon.

Yes, but Psychic worked off of Special and most Psychics tended to have low Defense, which Normals exploited.

Normals cannot be paralyzed by Body Slam in G1, if you kill someone with Hyper Beam you dont need to recharge (and Tauros dont need much to kill someone with it), Fighting types dont have good moves in G1, and normals have insane stats like Chansey/Snorlax who can tank anything from Alakazam for days

You can play Kanto-Games still on the DS and with R/B/Y on VGC you don´t even need a remake for obtaining all the pokémon.

There is no need to remake the remakes again at this time.

Of course they could just not do it, but it doesn't make sense. Every other gen game was released more recently, is easier to acquire, and has more modern mechanics than the most current version of Gen I. No other game in the series would benefit more from being remade.

If you just want the "original 151" AND a fun game, for sure they'd have to have all of the relevant Megas available, as well as an option to visit an "Alola-like island" to get the Alolan versions of Kanto Pokemon (So Gengar isn't your only available ghost, Mega Gyarados isn't your only available Dark, etc.)

They'd need to do something else too, like Alolan forms, but called different, of Kanto Pokemon.
