>>33726185>When talking about aesthetics and artwork/atmosphere, you cannot possibly compare the primitive, flat look of gen 2's G/S the the vibrant and lively world of gen 4's HG/SSSure I can. The Pseudo-3D looks like trash, the models shift and move around because of aliasing or whatever the fuck, models are sloppily-placed in some areas (see pic related- the sign outside of the Poke Mart being layered improperly for one example), it goes on like this. The sprite "animations" are also unarguably trash compared to Crystal- there are just two sprites that are retardedly squashed and morphed around to look more interesting than they actually are.
>the pros of having the Pokathelon, Pal Park, a fucking Battle Frontier, and a Kanto that actually feels like there is some kind of life in it and isn't just an empty rush job.I did enjoy these things. HG/SS absolutely does Kanto better, it's not even close, but my argument was simply that it wasn't superior "in every way"- there are some areas where it falls short.
>Beat the game and get gb sounds thenOh boy, I can listen to imitations of original tracks after I've finished everything. Too bad some of the original tracks are shit. Seriously, explain this shit to me, please:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dcCC-4JJkN0https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TEv_PiZUxxYNot to mention, HG/SS gets tracks for locations wrong. The Johto Cave theme plays in Mt. Moon. Seafoam Islands now plays the Ice Cave theme instead of the Viridian Forest them (which they botched, probably why they changed it).
How come I can no longer re-battle trainers on the S.S. Anne after doing it once? You could do it with every new trip in the originals.
Face it. HG/SS weren't flawless as remakes. They fell short in a lot of areas.
