>>33726355The Sevii Islands were better islands that Alola, despite there being significantly space less to explore. The reason? It actually felt like legitimate exploration. Maybe it's because after three gens of Kanto (if you count the 2nd gen), you get used to seeing the original 150 but then you go to these islands and find rare Johto mons... definitely well-executed. For a post-game area, it set an example for the many games after it as what players expect. It even had its own Battle Facility too, albeit not a very well known one.
The Sevii Islands were one of the main reasons I actually replayed FireRed last summer. They had a great purpose too, filling out the dex in the 3rd gen while also being a little slice of Johto.
