Battle mountain in pokemon gale of darkness had some pretty tough fucking teams. I don't remember the names of the specific trainers but the final rain team was insanely good.

The ai was a lot better in the GameCube games than any other game to date including gen 7, unfortunately they were also made by a different company than gamefreak which means we'll likely never get more than the retard ai we see today.

Going by my Nuzlocke runs, I always had the hardest time against Emerald's Wallace (that Double Team Ludicolo is just brutal).

Second best would probably be BW2's Iris on Challenge Mode. Lead Hydreigon and Sash DD Haxorus are no joke when you're using a bunch of un-EVed shitmons. Double props for using a themed team and not a jack of all trades like some other "hard" challengers.

Hell, fucking ALL of the gyms, come to think of it.

Clair and Chuck are the only two gyms in the game that you wouldn't think a Graveler could instantly destroy, but he still instantly destroys them.

Rock-types are OP in solo runs.

Except I gave more stipulations than "Geodude can beat the game."

It has super effective moves on almost every leader, has Defense for days, and resists a bunch of the common SP types like Normal.

It turns an easy game into a fucking braindead snoozefest and you're playing on that mode if you choose to use it.

Falkner (Rock Throw > Flying, not that you even need to overlevel for this fight, given that Geodude only take 1 damage from all of Pidgeotto's attacks anyway)

Bugsy (obvious and you're retarded if you deny it)

Whitney (doesn't matter, Geodude/Graveler tanks)

Morty (Magnitude > Ghost/Poison)

Chuck (doesn't matter, self-destruct the poliwrath)

Pryce (Rock Throw/Slide > Ice)

Clair (Graveler slays dragons pretty effectively)

Not getting into Kanto because post-game doesn't count

Leafeon is a Grass-type and doesn't have the offensive prowess that Geodude's line does, especially not in Gen II. It doesn't have the same amount of type advantages and doesn't even resist Normal-types.

The original argument was that whitney was difficult and geodude was brought up because it basically hard counters her (especially if its female)

Besides, depends on what you consider OP. A mon that learns a rock and groubd stab in a gen where a lot of mons stuggle with learning movsets seems pretty dang good to me.

I dont see how quoting posts made by other people somehow takes away from OP's original point.

Regardless, the definitions for OP are still no clearly defined. Geodude is still pretty good im HG/SS. Beats Falkner, Bugsy, Whitney and Jasmine pretty damn hard. And goofs on Team Rocket members. Having a ground type STAB move with an average BP of 70 at level 15 is pretty damb good. And is decently complimented by its rock throw.

So I could see an argument for why its on of the better mons for a solo run, in both gens.

Btw, the only reason that guy brought up leafeon was because you brought it up first. Comparing leafeon to the geodude line shows how you completely missed the points the OP was trying to make.
