Hawaii actually does have sea life fossils around it. It wouldn't be too much of a stretch to bring in fossils, especially aquatic ones like omanyte or kabuto, though we probably won't since they game doesn't really have a fossil lab.

Which is fine, I'm not really crazy about them, but it'd be kinda cool.

Why? Fossil is one of those hightlight in every generation(except gen 2 of course). If new UB reveal there is high possibility that new fossil will reveal too.

No (You)s, but OP wouldn't have seemed so retarded if gen 7 were just revealed. The chances of a new fossil Pokemon being introduced mid-gen is stupidly low, though. Also there was once a sort of pattern, bar one gen(?), but that pattern has been broken in gen 7. You have to remember, gen 6 onward has and will continue breaking huge patterns. For example, who would've thought there'd be no gyms in Alola?
