If it gets a recovery move it might be salvageable, but even then it would probably still only make it to like RU. That typing without any kind of immunizing ability is just god awful.

What if they only get Beast Boost by traveling outside of their native world freely? What if capturing them in their own world gives them a 'hidden ability' that they can maintain when brought back to Alola because they're in a ball?

It could explain why Necrozma and the Cosmog lines are UB's but don't have Beast Boost.

It's pretty heavily implied that's the reason why the UBs have beast boost and the Cosmog line/Necrozma don't.

I think I understand Gamefreak's logic. They think this thing should be the most defensive thing possible. What types superficially sound the most defensive and tough to crack? Well, Steel and Rock, obviously. A perfect answer from someone who doesn't understand Pokemon games at all.

Hey, you know what else sounds good tough and hard to overcome? Ice. Imagine you're somewhere in Sibiria having to break through all the snow and ice. That's why Ice is the perfect type for slow, defensive Pokemon.
