Sci fi is going to actual space and exploring it, etc.

Also, there is a difference between a Pokemon that originated in outer space, like cleffairy or haunter, or starmie; and alien being that don´t look like Pokemon INVADING this world.

It is a completely different atmosphere. Stop being an apologist and recognize it.

Every game has different themes so far. Gen I and II were very traditional, I felt and these games still exist. They even had their remakes. Gen 5 is very metropolitan, Gen IV a mix between traditional and sci-fi elements, Gen VI was once again very traditional, although you had heavy sci-fi elements, as well. Gen VII is more sci-fi based and I don't see anything wrong it.

I for one couldn't get into Gen IV at all. Did I complain for weeks how GF betrayed me and ruined my favourite franchise?
Nope, I just didn't play the games and waited until the next generation. Life moves on.

I am an oldfag and I play since the beginning of Pokemon.

The good old RBY times and I play competitive since gen2, my favorite gen is 3, but I also love 4 and 5 AND 6, I don't understand why people don't like gen6, it had cool Pokemon designs, the story was fun, the characters are really good and more.
ORAS was not that great, but it was still "okay", not as good es Emerald tho.

BUT! gen7 is the first gen I really don't like.
This game is so terrible, the story is terrible, the boring forced linear gameplay is terrible. the characters are extremely annoying. I hate the black dude and Lillie, I never hated any fictional characters in any game ever before.

The only part I like about gen7 are the Pokemon.
And Wicke and Lusamine.

I don't start with the current competitive meta, it is the worst since competitive exists (VGC is still okay tho).

I've been playing since Gen 1. Looking back on it, Gen 1 was shit. Genuine shit. It was good at the time, but for today's standards it's just literal garbage.
Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy it, but it's just not as good as modern Pokemon games.

It was a big drop, and it kept falling.
Level curves are irrelevant, since higher or lower levels don't affect difficulty like actual movesets do.
