I'm still holding out hope that there will be new ones, but if there isn't, I can't wait to hear GF's bullshit reasoning as to why.

It is especially egregious after they broke their own self-imposed rule and added new Pokemon in the form of UBs in the same gen. Why not straight-up give us some new alolan forms and pokemon?

Seems like they chose to advertise Z-moves over Regional forms, which is a shame because they were both the main selling points for SM.

probably cause Z-Moves will be an Alola thing and they won't carry on with it in future gens (like, they won't make it a main thing in future games, like mega's are now) so they're shilling the fuck outta them now and regional forms will most likely stay in the series now as it gives us 'new' pokemon without actually giving us new pokemon and also gives spotlight to older Pokemon.

Yeah, they're new takes on old Pokemon, and as you said, serve as a way to give us new Pokemon...without them actually being "new". This is literally the best thing for midgen games, but GF will be squandering the potential if we don't get even a single new Alolan form.
