Suppose USUM has no new Alolan forms, but as a substitute, you kind find vaguely alien Ultra Megalopolian forms of older Pokemon in the Ultra Megalopolis world. How would you react?

The same way I'd react to alolan forms, with excitement. The concept of regional variants would be the same, only the region changes.
I don't think that's likely, though, same with alolan.

I too thought about this, what if there were 'Ultra' forms sorta like regional forms except they're versions of the same pokemon but from a different dimension, but then that would be too much for forms for 1 generation.
They shouldn't have done the 'regional forms' thing cause it doesn't make sense to introduce it 7 generations into a series when the other regions don't have regional forms at all, they should've made the forms 'Ultra-world' forms instead of regional if that makes sense.

What makes you think alolan forms would be unlikely?
Don't you find the fact that gamefreak has said in trailers that more pokemon from previous gens are going to be found in USUM but not gone on record to say what more than a handful of those pokemon are a bit odd?

What else could they possibly announce between now and release? We have time for one more big announcement. Alolan forms seem perfect.
