Also if the Pokecenter nurse just places them in a machine to heal them, why haven't they developed the technology to heal them when returned to the Pokeball yet?
Consider this: If your 7th Pokemon is caught and the Ball somehow teleports to your PC, why not just have the Pokemon itself, in its light form, be teleported to the PC (and healed) and the Pokeball can be a conduit for bringing it back out. You can only use 6 Balls at most for battles, but being able to access all of your caught Pokemon this way would be much more sensible.
