i dont know about you, but as a kid i usually liked a pokemon more if it had a cool recognizable cry. plus in bw1 it felt way more familiar and welcoming when you had a load of old pokemon in the first postgame routes and all the cries werent changed just because they couldve been.
similarly, i feel like all the gen 6 (especially oras) and 7 music lacks all personality because its the typical orchestra that all other games use

they fixed a ton of shit that was never broken, like gen 3-5 cries
i wish they didn't have some stupid proprietary file format so the old cries could be easily modded into the gen 6 and 7 games
