It kind of evolved out of the ancient SEAKING FUCK YEAH meme when people sensibly talked on the awesome power of the horn and contrarians started hyping up the fins instead. What was a trolly but maybe innocent joke the finfucks were doing became a flat-out war when hornfans told them the joke wasn't funny anymore. Was across all the usual pokemon forums too, it was an unusually cross-pervading issue in the fandom. Yes, even /vp/, much less normie sites like serebii forums.
Eventually, people finally got tired and for once one side won loud and clear - horns obviously - and it was allowed to fall silent when shit wasn't deleted because people followed the lead of mods deleting the biggest threads, it was kind of that idiotic.
