Do you consider "legal" or take seriously pokemon trained in pirated games?
Not owning the cartridge or a legit eshop download, but as a hacked 3ds.
Obviously I'm talking in a legit run, not hacking pokemon in or using difficulty mods such as Rutile Ruby or Nova Sun.

Eggs from 6IV Dittos count as "legit" because in this day and egg we all use that Ditto

i really don't get this meme. i don't really care that much if you do this, but it honestly doesn't help out that much. yea it's nice at first but once you breed a decent number of things you can always find a father for whatever egg group you need.

Depends.
If I'm playing with my bros, it isn't sporting to hack your game. However, these rarely get to competitive scale, and we honestly rarely even have battles beyond our E-4 teams. These more frequently come down to who found that TM, who got a lucky catch, or who spent the extra ten minutes making a pokemon they would never touch ingame.
Competitive, so long as it's "legal", I don't care. At that point, it is no longer about preparing your team, and more about using it. The argument of experience and time practicing is actually my argument AGAINST legit breeding. It holds back the craft when experimentation is discouraged by a 12-hour penalty.

This, its a legal pokemon within game rules, ppl are just upset that you literally just by pass the time to do it. Personally I always mod the stats of my mons within legal standards with the powersave, and then I'll raise the mon from scratch (usually Lv 1 or wild caught) until Lv 100.

I'm doing what everyone else does, I'm just removing the perfect breeding grind aspect.

You still hacked that Ditto. Its offsprings are just as hacked. You're getting stuff that you wouldn't be able to if you haven't hacked.

If you really care about being legit to the point where you ask if pirated games are legit, then buy a gen 4 or gen 5 cartridge and get some legit Dittos.

You all missed OP's point which is if a PIRATED game run is as acceptable as a physical / official digital game is. The hacked thing was just a side note.

Personally I think playing on a pirated game is as legit as long as it's on real hardware and you aren't cheating.

Emulating on PC on the other hand well is a different story and I don't consider it legit.
Pirating on real hardware still involves playing the game with your own effort and under real circunstances if you don't cheat or hack at all, it'd be no different to play a digital download with the only real difference being the money spent.

Not that Gamefreak deserves our money for ripping us off with the actually complete version of the game but that's a subject for another thread.

Uhhh, because Dittos can breed with anything and they're easier to clone and spread around to others so they can actually get "a decent number of things"? I barely remember egg groups for non-ditto fathers unless I need certain egg moves
