Any dungeon of any sort has a free heal either right before it, or in the middle of it to make things even easier. Opponents' teams are shitty and have small, weak teams. The Gym Leaders cap at 3 mons, and the E4 caps at 4. Even before the champion replacement battle (N), you're healed up fully.
BW1's Unova region is specifically designed with plot in mind rather than making it flow as a region. In every other game, you're given break points of sorts where towns don't have any gyms, but exist to expand on the world. Places like Verdanturf, Solaceon, Slateport and Geosenge gave players a break from the constant streak of gym battles. Every location in BW1 outside of the tutorial town is a gym town to prevent sidetracking, and all non-gym locations are locked out. BW2 handles it much better by expanding on Unova, adding locations that don't just follow the fight gym->fight gym->fight plasma formula and reworking BW's postgame locations as ones you can visit in the main game.
People ignore the shit factor of BW just because BW2 was so good
