Necrozma is based off of a dead star.
A star, that doesn't have any light anymore. A dead star however has also reached it's most stable form where it doesn't poduce _ a n y _ form of energy anymore.
Along with "necro" in it's name I am sure that it stealing light is only what we are left to know. Because when it gets to complete it's plan we are dead and don't know that it doesn't "just" steal light but kill everything in a universe.
Necrozma might not only be the most dangerous pokemon, yet -
it might also be the first genuinely malevolent one, bent on destroying universes at will.
(I know that this theory might blow up in my face like Lockstin's reset theory but I think that Necrozma is a genuinely malevolent pokemon and that it indeed has the power to kill a universe)
