I like it but gathering people thoughts from here and there:

- It was heavily marketed during Gen6 era, only slightly bit less than Charizard X.

- Some people hate it because it overshadowed Chespin and Fenniken leading both to be universally ignored by GF and the fans.

- Got a new form (Ash's Battle Bond) that no other pokemon got. Similarly to people hating on Charizard for having 2 megas for no good reason.

- Charizard fans hate it because it's the strongest of Ash's pokemon (seriously read youtube comments of a video about Ash's pokemon)

- a SHITLOAD of people think its design is disgusting

I don't hate it, but it is annoying that it isn't depicted in the games as how it was in the anime.

To be fair, Charizard never really got anything really important up until G6. He (Yes, He, Ash's Charizard is male) had a few good fights in the anime but that is about it. That being said, Charizard is hated and loved in equal measure.
