The games have only changed for the better, you're just getting old and sick of pokemon. The old games were pretty trash and the pokemon diversity was always a problem. The new games improved on that and let's you build more interesting teams.

I kinda want to agree with this. Mechanically the games have been pretty much the same since RBGY. If they're not doing it for you anymore then it might be a sign that you just don't like the series anymore.

I don't think I'm tired of the series because I have almost 300 hours of gameplay in sun and am hyped for ultra sun, maybe it's a problem with past gens.

it's probably due to you just getting through a game. Pokemon at it's core is constantly the same experience and you don't want to go through it again so quickly. The 2d games also help by having emulation that speeds the grinding up. >>33772309 could be right too. I have memories for the first three gens yet can't stand to go through DPP or BW/B2W2 because I have no nostalgia towards them. They just come off as boring and if I'm going back to the DS era, it's always HGSS.
