I use 3 5 star treasure hunts in Plaza. Far faster but a deterrent from restarting the game again.

It's a good idea to use its technician ability, but its sp atk is not all that high to begin with.

I'm going with jolly. Soft resetted and got a good spread on ivs on the first jolly result.

I almost went with adamant, but competitively, it needs the speed.

Resetting was taking too long so I settled for a Jolly with a wasted I.V on sp.atk and 0 attack and 15ish attack. Gonna have to hyper train the fucker but eh, just gonna let it rot in Pelago.

If you fight ice-weak pokemon with intimidate (megamence, landorus-t), HP Ice with no special attack EVs does more damage than 252 atk ice punch. It's only if you're aiming to take down those specific threats, for anything that doesn't have intimidate, ice punch does better. Not sure what other things you'd want an ice move to deal with to begin with, but I'm sure there's something. I'm going to get both a Naive and a Jolly.

Marshadow is in ubers and popular. Speed is more important because the improvement it provides is more binary, either you go first or you don't, rather than that bit of extra damage from an adamant nature mayyybe resulting in a KO in fewer hits. Marshadow is also weak to ghost, so making sure yours is the fastest it can be means that against opposing Marshadow, who are threats, the worst case scenario is a speed tie that you might still come out on top of. You don't want to be caught out always losing to other Marshadow.

I guess if I'm being more specific about "does more damage", HP Ice is a OHKO on Mega-Salamence and Landorus-Therian, while Ice Punch is a 2HKO. HP Ice also does better against Complete Zygarde. Most everything else that is weak to ice and not Marshadow's STABs takes too many hits with either one and is too threatening for Marshadow to stay in against for that long.
