Because Ice is a bad type to be when anything and its grandmother can run Ice Beam/Punch.
Fuck, most ICE TYPES can't run Ice punch.
Kyurem-B would still be Uber, shit movepool and all, if it was Dragon/Electric.

Game Freak not making literal chunks of ice for pokemon anymore might help a bit, since that tends to play a part in both their stats and movepools, but A-Ninetails is proof. Auto-Weather+Dual Screens, and the thing still sucks.
This is the kind of fix /vp/ comes up with, and it still didn't work.

Ice needs a defensive buff to be good. I'm not going to say how, I don't know shit, but the type is an embarrassment.

Also it'd take more than that to fix hail; Sandstorm works well because it boosts Rock types special defense, *and* it has more than one type that can take advantage of it, AND there are several good pokemon with Sand related abilities. We'd need more type diversity under hail, good pokemon with Slush Rush, etc.

Fire types are safe under hail now? It'd make sense thematically too, since they resist ice. The hail "melts" as it hits fire types.

Fuck that. Defensive buffs are not the way to go for Ice.
Here. Ice-type Pokemon deal 50% more damage in a Hailstorm. That's for all their moves, not just their Ice-type STABs. Slush Rush abusers basically get to be Swift Swim Water-types on steroids.

On top of that, let's help out Mega Abomasnow specifically by giving it a Primal-tier super weather ability (let's just call it Ice Age) that drops the priority of attacks from non-Ice-types by 1 stage instead of fucking with the type chart.

Winter's coming, motherfuckers.

but if we're going hyper offense for weather only, wouldn't that just lead to more weather wars in the meta? Giving ice a buff outside of gimmicky weathers and abilities isn't a bad idea.

And even then, anyone who tells you Steel is better than Fairy is either retarded or playing you. Steel is OP right now for the same reason it was back in gen 5. It is purely coincidence that Steel both resists and is SE against Fairy. If it had been Electric, the problem would be even worse.
