In SM, Type: Null and Zygarde are placed between Akala and Ula'ula mons since they are first seen/catchable midgame.
In USUM, we know that Cosmog is #387, Necrozma is #400, and Marshadow is #402, indicating that only 2 UBs are between Lunala and Necrozma--presumably Assembly and Burst.
My first thought was that Adhesive is placed based on when you first fight the Ultra Recon Squad, but then I remembered that UBs aren't even counted as "seen" and only get registered if caught (even when the player knows Nihilego's proper name it still shows up as ???). Following this, it stands to reason that Adhesive will be obtainable a fair bit before the climax. If I had to guess, I'd say the story takes a left turn around the first Lusamine fight, and thus Adhesive plus a new UB used by the other Ultra Recon Squad member will be placed between Ula'ula and Poni mons.
