I suggest EO4 First, of all the the 3DS titles it has the least amount of QoL features, however it's the easiest and a good place to start.

the lack of OoL features may seem like a bad thing but it's nice because if you go from EOU2 to EO4, it'll be real painful.

Order I suggest is EO4, EOU, EOU2. Then EO3.

You don't have to play games in order, the stories have nothing to do with each other, aside from small references. The Original EO1 and EO2 aged horrible and aren't worth the experience IMO.

"2018 or later" means "planned for 2018 but we'll say 'or later' so people don't call us liars if we have to delay it due to unforeseen circumstances". It doesn't mean "we have no clue when we'll release it so we just pulled a year out of our asses, anything could happen".

If there weren't a very good chance of it being released in 2018, they wouldn't have fucking said 2018. You faggots have yet to provide evidence it's likely to be delayed that isn't "muh patterns" or "muh mommy won't buy my neet ass as Switch" and until you can do so, kindly shut the fuck up and maybe try getting a job because you're going to need it if you want to buy the next game on launch day.

It's much easier to wait two years for a game than it is to wait like, two weeks or two months. If it isn't done for two years than you can say eh fuck it it doesn't matter, and stop thinking about it. When you're not paying any attention to something you just go about living your life and don't notice the passing time. When something is imminent and you know it is when you're painfully aware of each and every passing day as you count the days and sometimes even the individual hours on the last few days before something comes out.

It's for this reason that I wish games were not announced until like, a month away from their release date. I don't want to know about shit that won't release for years at a time.

New Gens begin development as soon as the first game of the last Gen is finished. So Gen 8 has been in development since a month or two before SM came out, SM we're in development for a month or two before XY came out etc. It's separate teams that do third versions and remakes, so Gen 8 will already be like a year into development.

If they got their dev kit in '16, I'd concede you have a point.

But face facts, they got it in '15, Nintendo most likely suggested heavily that a core series game on Switch would be beneficial and the sooner they had it ready the better, Isihara said at E3 "it wouldn't be ready for at least a year", which puts it at at least June '18. If he'd meant to say "it's coming in '19", he would have said at least 2 years.

All signs point to it being 2018.

The reasons people have stated that Sinnoh remakes won't be on the 3DS are all very sound, but I still think it is in production and will be released before the Switch game. There's clearly a lot of corporate pressure on GF to release new games as often as possible, and it's a guaranteed final moneymaker for the 3DS. I wouldn't expect it to be rich with new content, though.

Nope. Reggie outright says its 2018. Job listings and investor calls also say its planned for 2018. Don't be fucking fooled by buzzwords like "or later" being used as insurance in case of a delay. You can also go fuck yourself if you think development literally just started and that the game will be rushed its out next year. Dev kits for the switch were sent out in 2015, and I can guarantee you Game Freak were the first ones to receive one considering their franchise helped Nintendo rise up in the gaming industry.

It doesn't matter when development started, if it comes out half-baked, it's rushed. Every time GF puts out a pokemon game on a new console, it's half-baked. You can be sure as hell it will be for switch considering the big leap in power.
