Is it weird that I'm completely convinced that Game Freak deliberately gimped Chesnaught and Delphox's movepools to make Greninja look even better in comparison than it already was?

Nah, thats a reasonable assumption because Greninja was crafted to be the "fan favorite". I feel like Delphox got the worst of it though, at least chesnaught got a decent Hidden Ability and some cool support moves like Spikes. Delphox seems like it was meant to be overshadowed by Perma-STAB Frog

Chesnaught has an amazing movepool though. Its only problem is that it's typing is iffy for something defensive.
