Contributing to the thread, I think Psyduck gained nothing by being mono Water, Slowpoke line are all Top 10 for me, and they shouldn't have been blamed for making Golduck irrelevant until Cloud Nine, alway been a subpar choice as a wannabe Water/Psychic. Almost every Psychic in Gen 1 was Yellow, seriously could have been the definitive hallmark. GF actually loves releasing similar typings en masse, see Grass/Ghost for Gens 6&7 or even Bug/Steel in Gens 2&5.
Maybe pokemon could have subtypes or something, a free STAB if it fits their design? Idk
