Funny, because I sometimes do mockups for game concepts when I'm bored and one of the ones I came up with was a f2p Pokemon MMO. I went into the business model and semi-cosmetic lootboxes combined with limited availability of Pokeballs was the one I eventually settled on.

No way would this be OK in a full priced game though.

If we ever get a MMO'ish Pokemon game with Colosseum like graphics and shit with customisation and shit, I wouldn't mind a random boxes with cosmetic items, there is literally nothing wrong with that shit as long as its just cosmetic.
