Just reboot the entire thing under a different and larger developer and make a genwun pandering Kanto open world player driven kind of game with heavy focus on online features, consisting of only the original Kanto dex plus relevant evolutons of later gens with some heavy overhaul of mechanics and systems to make it more balanced (still turn based), then call it a "spin off" initially in case it fails and you just go back to the usual fare, but leave it ambiguous enough that you can continue in this direction as the main series in case it succeeds.
Watch it sell so much it makes Pokemon Go look like a cult hit, watch /vp/ go insane as the Facebook genwunner normies finally come for their franchise, watch it become the main direction of the series as they start remaking all the old gens and regions from the beginning with redesigned and even removed Pokemon.
If Pokemon ever falls into irrelevancy so hard it starts to tank in sales, I could see them nuking the entire thing just like that and going for this final solution.
