I was on the Froakoe train from the start, so I'm inclined to say Greninja. Ash Greninja severely dampered my love for it though. Chesnaught is pretty dope too, namely its shiny form. No idea why that isn't its default color scheme.

Overall, don't like them. Delphox is my fav out of three, but I don't really like any of their designs too much.
They are all way to humanoid and I hate what they did with Chespin. I loved the colors Chespin, even Quilladin I enjoyed, but there is not one single thing I like about Chesnaught. Hate how his face looks, it's body type, it's colors, everything. It has nothing left over from Chespin.

Greninja is just boring to me.

Chesnaught is strong concept, quite weak execution

Greninja is decent concept, passable execution but it being shilled as much as it is ruins it for me. Ashninja is an eyesore and an abomination

Delphox is dreadful conceptually and in how it was executed, I'd hate it more if only it wasn't so forgettable.

All in all, not great. I think gen 4 will always have the best starters even though Sinnoh overall was a mistake

Gen 4 has perfect starters. They're useful and cool and have good typings. It'd be hard for any thing to surpass that trio.

Basically this. Worst bunch of starters because greninja, the best one, is only decent. Also agree wholeheartedly about the gen 4 dex being pure shit sans the starters and a couple of other lines. Good taste.

I don't like Delphox. It looks too much like a fursona with weird ear hair. I don't mind humanoid Pokemon, but I feel like they didn't do a good job with Delphox. Plus it looks like a weird cone in-game. Easily my least favorite starter.

Chesnaught's not bad. I like it, but it could have been done better. It has a fantastic shiny, though.

I like Greninja, but not as much as Chesnaught. Again, it also has a pretty good shiny. Ash-Greninja looks ugly as sin, though.
