Not being able to use the new mons in vanilla Sun Moon will be pretty shitty, don't you think? I always liked that within a generation all games were compatible with all Pokémon

That's formes, it was always like that, but the base Pokémon was always compatible within all games

Back then it was even possible to use the new formes against Players of the older versions, the sprite was just visible in their regular form instead of the new one

And? You could still use Kyurem forms, Giratina-O, etc with the base games of their respective gens. They just showed up as the regular form on the other game.

Obviously they won't patch it to make it catch able, but patch it so you can play against it in battle (and maybe once the hype dies down, so you can trade it to SM).

I mean its GF so the likely hood is they won't, I just mean hypothetically they could.

This was never a thing.
Just look back into generation 6. The new forms of groudon, kyogre and hoopa could not be transfered to X/Y. All the new mega evolutions, too.

In Gen5 it was the new forms of keldeo, meloetta and kyurem. In Gen4 it was giratina´s, shaymin´s and rotom´s new forms. In Gen3 it was deoxys´ forms.
