Ultimately though, I think that it comes down to the final price of the games. Ever since gen 1, $100 or less has been enough to buy both games. If the Switch Pokémon games are $60 minimum each, then I don't think that two versions would sell very well. Or rather, the games would sell well, but Game Freak would have fewer people buying both versions. This would really hurt them in the long run. On the other hand, if the Switch Pokemon games are less than $60, then we will likely see two versions.
