How do you pick your Pokemon you use in casual runs? Monotype? Well balanced? Solo? Native region only? Kind of curious.

For casual runs I just pick pokemon I haven't used in recent runs. For monotype runs, I get Pokemon with varying sub typings to cover my weaknesses.

I choose based on looks, prioritising weaker Pokemon over stronger ones.

If it's my first playthrough of that particular game I just use whatever Pokémon I happen to find and like. If I'be played through the game before I plan ahead and usually pick Pokémon I haven't used before. I also try to avoid overlapping typings.

Usually I don't plan my team out, but I want to go through all my games with different teams, so I sort of have to now to make sure I don't end up with overlapping types.

Monotype and native region only was my most recent one. Alola has a lot of neat ghosts and I got to pick a starter of my favorite type for once

I try not to have overlapping types, or 'mons I've used in previous games, as many new 'mons as possible and generally go outside my comfort zone (I found for a while I'd still follow the same basic type template I'd used in Gen I for following E4/League challenges through the years)
