Why do people SR for shiny Pokemon? I understand in cases of events like Null, but for your starter, wouldn't it be easier and much faster to just breed for it? Then you'd have the nature, IVs and egg moves you wanted as well.

I'm saving the shiny breeding of starters for when their HA gets released. No point resetting for a shiny if its a 0% chance of being usable.

OP here, doing it so I can go on my adventure with my shiny. I preordered the Amazon steelbook dual-pack, but the games come out literally 2 weeks before my medical board exam, so I won't be really playing them until after that because I'll get engrossed in the adventure. But at night when I'm done studying for the day, I'll SR for the shiny Rowlet on my Sun game so I'll be set for when I can actually start playing. Surprisingly, it only took 2 hours for me to get a shiny Type: Null.

Owl is the only worthwhile shiny starter this gen. Incineroar ruins its own shiny by looking like a fucking Ronald Mcdonald with tumors all over its body and shiny primarina is just fucking boring. Sadly the starters are all fucking garbage ingame, so i'll just box.

I might just inject a perfect IV shiny starter since theres no way of getting a perfect mon this early in the game and I dont feel like playing with a mon that has shitty stats

to go through the game with the shiny? by the time you can breed you've probably already got half a team and evolved a few pokemon, or if you're trading over it will get boosted exp and stop listening to you unless you hack it to be your ID/OT
and if you're going to do that might as well just inject a shiny
but some people don't want to cheat they want to do everything in the game legit
