Me and my pokemon emerald cartridge have gone through a lot of shit.
>Get Emerald as christmas gift the year it came out
>Invest tons of hours and runs in it
>Fast forward to middle school
>Haven't touched it in years so I sell it to a classmate
>A week later, I realize my mistake
>Give the guy the money back for my cartridge
>Play it some more
>Couple years pass
>Urge to play
>Battery has run dry
>Try to replace it, game stops working altogether (even though I did the same with my Silver and it worked, which reminds me I gotta replace it again)
>Panic, decide to check my local gamestop for a used copy
>There's only Sapphire, get it anyways
>It has a dead battery too
>More time passes
>Decide to try and put the old battery back in Emerald
>IT WORKS
>Rush to buy a new battery
>Replace it, game doesn't work
>Put the old one back in, game works
>"Oh well"
>Start new savefile, gunna get those battle frontier symbols
>Make team of Latios, Heracross and Metagross
>Get only Silver Pike, Factory, Palace and Dome
Now I haven't been playing for like six months, someday I might continue the frontier.
Before you ask, no I'm not an underage. Also despite all this shit, Fire Red is still my fav and I've put way more hours there than in Emerald
