Just about to fight Roxanne, Wally has proven to be pretty damn useful. No deaths yet, but almost lost Wally in a gym fight and Dope to a Growlithe of all things.

Red ++ is fun, but also really challenging if you don't grind a bit. The trainer level curve is high with each progression. Also I got rekt plenty of times in Rock Tunnel because I couldn't counter rock/ground so be aware of that.

The difficulty curve is a bit different - first couple of gyms are very easy & it doesn't really pick up until Norman, then again at Magma hideout. Went through phases of taxing nu-Exp Share out the PC & putting it back

Seriously now how is grass minkie still going? Also why haven't you evolved him yet - did you pick a different set of stones in Castelia for some reason (even though you don't seem to have anything else to use them on)?

Got a chance to update. Here's the current team. Currently in the trainer school, doing the trainer school things.
Got one of my favourite starters, so I'm happy. And I've not used Pikipek or Crabrawler yet, so I'm looking forward to this

OP here, played a ton last night without updating and wiped at Norman, so here's my second try.

I'm at Brawly now but I'm really scared of that fight, I have a nincada and a roggenrolla in the bank along with a dead petilil. missed a catch or two earlier on. Probobaly gonna grind

I cleared Brock after three run attempts before this one, accidentally killed two pokemon with unlucky crits, debating buying a magikarp early from the mt. moon pokecenter but even though I get to nickname it I am uncertain of if that is a rules violation

Time to try out Zeta. From what I've heard, Zeta/Omicron is a pretty challenging game to run. The game also has a dedicated "Nuzlocke Mode" so I'll make sure to have that on. Digits determine starter.

Went to the Safari Zone and actually ran into a Pinsir...that ran after throwing one bait, I'm still salty.

Post Normal Trial. Pichu died against a Yungoos (Go me). I've added that clause "can't swap out until a Pokemon dies" and coupled it with "Pokemon can only be added to the party in the order they were caught". Which means I have to add the Wimpod. Which means when that inevitably dies, I have to put in the Spinarak.
