the gen 4 engine is fucking awful and makes replaying the games feel like a chore, but I like a lot of gen 4 Pokemon.

Some nice new Pokemon designs. Implemented online features as standard. A few nice tunes.

That's it. I can't muster anything else nice to say about gen 4, it is by far the worst generation.

Goddamn, thank you so much for posting this. the Gen 1 one was fine because it was pointing out objective flaws in programming and bugs, but retards have made it into "THIS IS WHY THIS IS MY LEAST FAVORITE GEN BECAUSE MY OPINION IS FACT". People can't have a nuanced opinion on anything around here.

I love Cynthia and Yanmega. Importing Pokemon from pal park was fun. The physical special split as well as the return of the day night cycle and the end of trading restrictions made it a big step up from gen III.

I like Gallade's design, although for some reason it doesn't learn a single fighting-type move until level 53 in gen 4 so it ends up being pretty shit unless you waste a TM on it.
