>>33849002To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Gen 1 Pokeon designs. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of Japanese mythology and creature design, most of the jokes will go over a typical player's head. There’s also Electrode’s pokeball-esque design, which is deftly woven into his roll in the games- as a mimic, players may occasionally mistake him for a collectible item and fall into a battle they were unprepared for. The *true* fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these creatures, to realise that they’re not just funny monsters- they're the well designed enemies of a classic JRPG. As a consequence people who like the newer generations truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the humour in Farfetch'd carrying a leak, which itself is a cryptic reference to classic 11th century Japanese novel "Tale of Genji". I’m smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated unovabortions scratching their heads in confusion as Satoshi Tajiri’s genius wit randomly appears for a battle in the tall grass. What fools.. how I pity them :')
