I meant that having fat in general, not being fatter than the norm for your species, helps buoyancy in humans and animals. Snorlax as a species tends to have quite a bit of fat, which should help it be buoyant, no?

Yes fat floats. It's also one way to tell if a girls large breasts are real or not. Natural being filled with fat will float while silicone will sink.
