>>33874131>>33874139This was about Kanto starters but no, Snivy is only good with its HA.
Anyway:
- SE against Brock, Misty, Giovani, Loreili and Bruno
- Resists Surge, Erika and the optional fighting gym
- Has more advantage in the wild than the other two. Rock Tunnel, Diglett Cave, S.S Anne, Sevii Islands, Seaform Islands, Powerplant, Victory Road plus the roads with the fishermen and rock pokemon and the sea areas.
- Sleep Powder works as a great pokemon catching move as much as a great move against disadvantages. Making Venusaur an even more useful pokemon inside and outside battles.
- Toxic + Leech Seed glitch + Razor Leaf 100 critical rate which translates to a 25PP ~165BP move that also bypass the opponents boosts (Gen1 only).
- Saves you antidotes and potions thanks to its Poison immunity (Viridian Forest/Poison Gym) and Leech Seed/Mega Drain/Giga Drain.
- Has the highest Special stats in Gen1 which means it deals and take the most damage out of the three, and thus making it both an offensive and defensive pokemon, unlike Charizard(offensive) and Blastoise(defensive).
- While Charizard has high attack stats and shit defense and Blastoise having the opposite, Venusaur has both high offense and defense stats plus faster than Blastoise.
- No other grass pokemon is as good as Venusaur (except Exeggutor in Gen1 only) - can't say the same for Charizard with Arcanine/Ninetales/Moltress and Blastoise with most of the water kanto pokemon.
- Competitively, Venusaur has been the most viable of the three since Gen1. While Blastoise is outclassed by half of the water dex and Charizard was mediocre without mega.
- Doesn't need mega to be viable, unlike Charizard and Blasto, in which they are totally useless crap without mega. Regular Venusaur in doubles with drought users can work pretty well.
- Don't give a single fuck about field hazards like a certain someone and even good for toxic ones.
