I have come to the realization that I really never liked pokemon.
I always liked the designs of the monsters, but almost everything else about it pissed me off
>trainer/gym system
>evs
>lack luster games
>normal world
>characters in the anime pissed me off
>the fact that most pokemon can only say their names
>the fact that most are regarded as the animals of the world
>the fact that we are catching them instead of playing as them INB4 mystery dungeon


The whole thing really pissed me off and I lied to myself and just dealt with the bullshit that came along with it. I dropped it for the R/S/E gen due to jrpgs, and picked up again 4-6, but eventually said "fuck it, these games and series are lack luster.

Honestly what I wanted from the beginning was something more akin to monster rancher anime, or digimon xros in RPG form; monster heroes exploring a weird world, having adventures and saying the day.

There was a severe hero drought before anime became widespread (internet wasn't what it is now) and many of the action hero shows were canceled.
Anyone else feel this way?
Anyone else feel as though it's lack luster?
Or is it just me?
