Honestly, I kind of hate that Pokemon sells so well without any effort, because Gamefreak knows they don't have to bother going out of their way to please fans and so don't bother.
SMT and Digimon have to really work to get their sales due to being niche, and so they listen to their fans and add things that people clamour for.
