I think you should be able to get BP from online battles as well. It's such a necessary currency, people who enjoy the game in lots of different ways should have means of getting it.

Nobody has said anything about natures or EV training except for you. If the player gets enough points during Mantine Surf to earn a move then there's no problem whatsoever in learning the move. They didn't seek it out or farm for it, the choice was simply there.

My point was that Move Tutor moves are not needed to beat the main game because of how easy it is; and that TMs are the most basic form of building a team, not comparable to Move Tutors and other things such as breeding, etc.

Nobody said move tutors were necessary, they said now you can access the tutors and the means of getting points during the main game giving you more versatility in team building which is more fun. TMs are only more basic because you're more used to them being available.

And my point was that these Move Tutors would effectively serve a similar purpose as TMs within the context that you would be able to use them during the main game for expanding your options. It's not mandatory, just like TMs, merely a new toy to use.
