With all of the inconsistencies in Pokemon lore, is it time for a narrative reboot?

It seems like they're kind of pushing the boundaries with Ultra Sun/Moon. Are they maybe preparing for a reboot to coincide with restructuring the franchise at it moves to Switch?

What all needs fixing?
How would you fix it?

Well it's a perfect opportunity to start again in RBY,maybe start a new dimension where z-moves doesn't exist if we get lucky and megas are common thing already researched,leaving UBs to postgame only,Looker never again appears instead we are in a universe more like the Rse one with the Bf and finally leaving everything else to future games while the Kanto story it's pretty much the same but with a wider dex

Why not?

The series is kind of piecemeal.

They just tack on and remove new mechanics and other bullshit every iteration.

It's like a bunch of shit duct taped together.
It wouldn't be that hard to reorganize it so it's not messy and still have room to grow.

I mean, we've always had shit like the Emerald Dex mentioning Latias herds, but people always just dismissed that as Pokedex wackiness.

It's still in a special part of the Dex (the only #000 to date) and adjacent to last gen's Mythicals as far the N.Dex is concerned.

Legendary was always used to describe rare and/or powerful pokemon, not one-of-a-kind gods. Having them evolve or be weak doesn't ruin anything.

Yeah, of course. Too bad there are a lot of people out there who insist that legendaries are unique and all-powerful ancient gods who shaped the pokemon world. Why do you they still try to pretend Type: Null and the UBs aren't legendaries?

In terms of lore though, it's hinted that Solgaleo and Lunala aren't actually "pokémon" They were ultra beasts that teamed up with the Tapu's to protect Alola from other ultra beasts that were causing destruction. After that, they were hailed as "Legendary" Pokémon by the Alolan people
