Pokemon is designed by men who never, NEVER had to learn decent game design. Everyone just buys a Pokemon game when it comes out because of the brand name.

I'm being 100% serious: do not buy Pokemon games. Pokemon is basically public domain at this point. Play romhacks, inject, collect merchandise.

Actual, official games completely suck ass.

In the first month of SM release i went around GTS scavenging for alot of mons in apricorn balls, this was pre-bank so they didn't ask for much.

A large part of Pokemon's design is collecting and trading. Rare balls encourages breeding things in them for other rare things. It's pretty much the only thing left in Pokemon that creates some sense of an actual trading economy. For example as said >>33878993
it's actually made the GTS worthwhile and fun to use.

Of course not everyone cares about breeding balls, but the Johto balls are so useless for actual capturing purposes that it doesn't really matter.
