1-Ash and Pikachu
2-Someone thats a lot like Ash, but different in some interesting way with the Marill line
3-A more edgy protagonist with pic related.
4-A trainer with Riolu/Lucario working with Looker and the international police, or a school anime like all the mons clones do.
5-Trainer who stumbles onto team plasma harrasing Victini gets dragged into the plot and ends up getting Zekrom/Reshiram.
6-Either "back to our roots" with a Not!Ash trainer, or literally Alain. Make the plot around discovering megas like in the games. Charizard as the mascot for gen 1 pandering, but SURPRISE SURPRISE gen 4 guy and his Lucario returns for the whole mega evolution thing.
7-Since the starters are entertainers, you could make a Not!YuyaSakaki who views pokemon battles as performance.
